Portable platform for loading railway wagon - is fitted to end of wagon by interengaging lugs to bridge gap between wagon and platform

The equipment loads and unloads containers on railway wagons (10). It has portable platforms (20) for manual handling with positioning lugs (24,25,26) for connecting to the end of a wagon. The platforms protrude above the buffers (16) to meet a platform at the end of the wagon or another end loading wagon. The platforms are placed slightly higher than the wagon floor and near the container floor. Transverse protrusions (24) fixed to the platform are pressed on the end of the wagon floor and buffer. The platform is lodged in a hinged fixing at the wagon end.
