The platform is anchored to the sea bed by cables. The windward cables are cut before the capsize point is reached to move the pivot point of capsize to the leeward side. The cables may alternatively be wound on a drum with a fixed tension to unwind if the maximum value is exceeded. The system may be controlled electronically or hydraulically. The anchor points may be released by exploding charges under the anchors. The charges are detonated remotely from the platform.
