The labelling machine consists of a conveyor (1) which carries the parcels (2) having a top face (2a) which will bear the label. The label strip (3) is carried in a roll (4) which crosses over the conveyor and is finally rolled up on a second reel (11). The roll consists of two strips (3a,3b). One strip (3a) is pre-printed and has locating strips (13) along its length. The backing paper (3b) is stripped from the roll and wound onto the reel (6) by the drive (7). The cutting head (8) is actuated by the controller (9).
