PURPOSE:To operate the magnetometer globally and to decrease false signal by the oscillation by adding and amplifying the respective outputs of 3 pairs of optical detectors located in three dimensions and by detecting and selecting the maximum value of the output level. CONSTITUTION:A magnetometer is arranged on 3 shafts to operate it in all area of globe. Light penetrated through a pair of helium absorption cell 4 is converted into electric signal in a optical detector 5 and also transmitted to a maximum value detection selector 11 by passing through 3 summing amplifiers 6 and 6'. Here, the maximum value is automatically detected from the output signal level of 3 summing amplifiers corresponded to each shaft and the shaft is selected. Then, only the signal sent from the shaft is transmitted to a phase detector 7. As described here, when the shaft of the maximum output level is selected, interference of signals of other 2 shafts can be removed and output without having false signal is generated.
