GASIFICATION OF COKE BY USING SHAFT FURNACE AND WINKLER GASIFIER

PURPOSE:To contemplate effective utilization of sensible heat and to protect hardware in the neighborhood of the top of a shaft furnace from high temperature, by introducing powdered coke into an Winkler gasifier provided in the neighborhood of the shaft furnace, and blowing steam produced in a waste-heat boiler into the Winkler gasifier. CONSTITUTION:Lump coke and converter slag are charged from the funace top 2 of a shaft furnace 1 into the shaft furnace 1 utilizing an unemployed blast furance, and at the same time room temperature air is blown through a tuyere 3 into the furnace to gasify coke. Produced gas is recovered from the belly 4 of the furnace, and the sensible heat thereof is used as a heat source for a waste-heat boiler 5. The produced gas together with relatively low-temperature produced gas recovered from the furnace top 2, is subjected to the removal of dust in a dust remover 6, and then applied as low-caloric gas to uses except the process line. Powdered coke is introduced from the coal supply port 8 of a Winkler gasifier 7 provided in the neighborhood of the shaft furnace 1 into the Winkler gasifier 7. O2 and steam produced in the waste-heat boiler 5 are blown through a tuyere 8' into the Winkler gasifier 7 to form the fluidized bed of the powdered coke and to gasify the coke. High- temperature and high-caloric gas produced is recovered from the top 9 thereof, passed through a waste-heat boiler 10 and a dust remover 11 and then applied to uses except the process line.
