Spacers for packing delicate foils to prevent creasing or crushing - to hold helically wound layers of foils apart

Materials for packaging fragile foils by securing one or both edges of the foil to supporting strips which hold several layers of foil apart to prevent crushing or creasing. One form support comprises a flexible strip of corrugated board with a lateral web which can be stitched or stuck to the edge of the foil. Foil fitted with such a strip along each edge can be rolled into a coil of several turns which may be laid in a horizontal case. Alternatively, foil may be suspended from one edge in a vertical container, the spacers being flexible corrugated board wound into a spiral and then braced by injection of foamed polyurethane or polystyrene resin. Used to protect foils which are spoiled if crumpled or creased or which block together if in face-to-face contacts.
