INTRAVASCULAR LOOP PROBE HAVING TWO MUTUALLY PERPENDICULARLOOP SENSORSABSTRACT OF THE INVENTIONAn intravascular loop probe includes two lenticular, compres-sible, resilient, and expansible wire loops disposed in planessubstantially mutually perpendicular to each other for operationin a conduit transversed by a magnetic field externally applied.The loops are insulatively joined at the point of maximumcurvature. The open ends of the loops continue as wires thatpass through a ground ring and are cemented to form a stem forinserting the probe into the conduit via a catheter. Centralportions of loop wires are bared to serve as electrodes. The loopterminal wires which form the stem of the probe are connected toexternal circuitry so that each of the two orthagonal loops isserviced by a separate circuit.
