MULTIPLE INJECTOR FLOW THROUGH DISSOLUTIONCELL FOR DISSOLUTION TESTING APPARATUSAbstractA dissolution cell for use in automatic dis-solution testing apparatus is specially configuredto accommodate the iterative insertion of productspecimens into the dissolution mechanism flowstream, and to perform the specimen insertion intoa stabilized flow stream with minimal insertiondisturbance. A basic multiple-injection embodimentutilizes a linear configuration to selectivelyinsert two specimens into the flow stream, and acircular multiple-injection embodiment teaches theselective insertion of a plurality of specimensinto the stream in a manner amenable to a program-mable sequence. Both embodiments use air evacu-ation of the specimen flow chamber prior to itsinsertion into the instrumented flow stream, andboth allow a high degree of fidelity in the dis-solution measurements performed. The improvedcell is especially useful for testing rapidly dis-solving industrial products or drug dosage forms.
