Untwisted yarn is produced from multi-coloured continuous extrusion-spun filaments, where one filament at least is a different colour from the others, by assembling 10-90% of the filaments into a strand to give a secondary strand to be wound round the main strand to give and a coil for every 15cm of length, using polypropylene, polyamide or polyester. The process gives a multi-coloured synthetic yarn material to be used for the mfr. of heather-type fabrics.
