The flexible plastics batten is used for decorative interior finishes, and is suitable esp. for concrete framework construction. It consists of cold-hard-setting elastomer (1), with pliable reinforcement of tough metal wire or wire mesh, of suitable dia. Reinforcement content is only 2.5-5% and bonded to the hardened elastomer. The batten is shaped by casting in a matrix, is mechanically pliable in all directions, and stable when deformed.
