Dressing and sharpening of saw blade with internal cutting hole - where pot grinding wheel is driven radially from axis of blade towards edge of hole

The thin, circular saw blade has an inner hole; and the edge of the hole is coated with an abrasive material forming the cutting edge of the blade. The surface of the hole is dressed and sharpened periodically by a rotating pot grinding wheel, which is driven radially from the axis of the hole onto the abrasive. The pot grinding wheel is pref. made of Al2O3 or SiC, and is rotated by a motor. The motor and pot wheel are pref. moved towards the edge of the hole by a micrometer screw. The saw is employed for slitting valuable materials into thin prods. with accurate dimensions, high surface quality, and with min. loss of material. The dressing tool can be operated without the need for very highly skilled personnel.
