The compensated mounting for a wing mirror has the mirror gripped at its upper and lower inside corners by ball joints for adjustment about a near vertical axis. The upper ball joint (22) is one end of a compensating lever (32) whose other end is linked to the vehicle by a second ball joint (21). The lever allows the mirror to be adjusted about a horizontal axis. The bottom ball joint is secured by a friction clamp, with a similar clamp at the top joint. The mirror is securely held between the two supports with a minimum of vibration and wind flutter.
