The heating system is typically for the boiler of a direct-fired absorption heat pump, having a number of radiant heaters (2) mounted round the lower part of the boiler, and operated together or cut in and out in groups. The valves (12) for the individual heaters are operated simultaneously with their air intake shutters (9). The heat-exchange plates(3) on the outside of the boiler can form chambers with the individual heaters, and which are not completely cut off from each other. The shutters can be controlled by bimetal strips.
