The rapid semiconductor switching control has a signal input (1) coupled to a control signal path (1-4-2) with at least one diode (G1,G4,G5) bridged by a capacitor (C1) and a series capacitor (C). The switching node (2) is coupled to the control electrode of the switched semiconductor (T2) via a diode (G1) biased in the conductive direction and is coupled to its collector via a further conductive diode (G2), for base current limitation. The switched load circuit (Ro-3-T2) incorporates the primary of a current converter (W), its secondary coupled via a further current path (J2) to the control signal path (1-4-2). Pref. the secondary circuit of the current converter (W) includes a resistor (R1) coupled to a threshold switch (S) for short-circuiting the control signal when the load current is too great. The switching control exhibits low current consumption.
