Switching arrangement for reducing quiescent current consumption of e.g. radar detector in commercial motor vehicle, has transistor for conductively or non-conductively switching another transistor based on current required for load
The arrangement has a high-impedance resistor (R1) for reducing supply voltage at an electrical load in a standby state of the electrical load and passing a quiescent current to the electrical load. A transistor (T1) increases the supply voltage at the electrical load in a normal operation state of the electrical load and passes an operating current to the electrical load. Another transistor (T2) conductively or non-conductively switches the former transistor based on current required for the electrical load in a standby state or normal operating state.
