A light source and for receiver for optical measurement systems are pref. for a reflection optical systems with a housing. They are designed for simple rapid and problem-free adjustment of the optical axis. This is facilitated by the provision of a ball linkage (14) between the housing 912) and its holder (21). The linkage contains an internal ball linkage with two diametrically opposed convex spherical surface sections (19) similar geometry and a diatrical drilled mole (15) for the carrier (21). Pressure pieces (20) have concave spherical surface sections opposing the internal linkage convex surfaces and of the source radius. They can be pressed against the convex surfaces so as to lock the linkage. The internal linkage can be rigidly attached to the housing and the pressure pieces mounted on the carrier.
