Welding plastics sheets together - machine uses platens or electrodes and locates sheets together with welded PVC pins

Sheets are welded together between two electrodes, esp. electrodes which move over a table carrying the sheets; at least one electrode can have members to pivot to the plane of the sheets, or the electrodes can be replaced by at least one pair of heated blocks lying on each side of and parallel to the plane of the sheets; these blocks are moved under pressure. The enclosure for the appts. has an entry for the moving sheets. Before welding, welding pins or similar perforate at least two overlapping sheets; at the end of the welding area each hole produced is covered at both ends, the ends being joined together by a pin. Machine handles usual films or insulating sheets at high speed and with good quality welds.
