A description is given of a device for eliminating the troublesome formation of spray water by vehicle tyres, which device can be produced, on the one hand, in a cost-effective manner and, on the other hand, even in more difficult operating conditions has a self-cleaning effect or can be easily cleaned. For this purpose, a multiplicity of flexible individual elements in the form of slender, at least essentially upright stoppers are provided on a carrier surface arranged in the circumferential region of the tyre.
