System for signalling a change in driving direction for a vehicle in which the driving direction indicator is automatically switched off by the steering device of the vehicle when the latter is moved back to a predetermined position. The system can be used in particular on motorbikes. It contains a sensor which is realised as a potentiometer (6) and generates a signal which represents a steering movement angle which corresponds to the actuation of the steering device of the vehicle, and an interference signal suppression circuit (A) which receives the signal of the sensor and eliminates interference portions which are contained in the signal as a function of the travel speed of the vehicle. The peak value holding circuit (B) receives the output signal of the interference signal suppression circuit (A) and holds the peak value of the signal. A comparator (C) receives both the output signal of the interference signal suppression circuit (A) and the output signal of the peak value holding circuit (B) and compares these signals with one another in order to bring about a clearing signal for the driving direction indicator when the steering device has been moved back by a predetermined amount in the direction of its normal position.
