The manual percussion tool is for extracting E.g. hub-caps from automobile wheels has a pincer design. One arm (3) is substantially longer than the other (2) to carry a mass (10). This slides along the arm (3) between two stop flanges (12), and is propelled against the outer stop once the jaws (8) have been positioned under the rim of the cap (17). The geometry of the handles (2, 3) is such that the axis of the longer handle (3) coincides with the extension of the cap axis i.e. when the jaws (8) engage the cap. The jaws are demountable, are mounted on the active ends of the two handles, and ar adjustable relative to the pivot (4) of the pincers. The adjustment may be obtained by fixing the jaws (8) with locking nuts (9). The jaws (8) may each have a part cylindrical internal face with a leading knife-edge lip (14).
