The adjustable pincer-action cramp incorporates two hand levers (12,28) together with two movable clamp arms (14,18) fitted with clamp faces (22,24). The arms are cranked and define a rectangular opening when the clamp faces are in contact. One of the arms (18) is pivotably attached (20) to a hand lever (12) and the other arm can slide along a bar (10) to modify the distance between the clamp faces, using a wedge effect to lock in the desired position. When the tool is in use the faces are parallel to each other, are perpendicular to the bar, and may be approximately planar over their entire length.
