The tie-piece used for fixing, to a vertical wall, scaffolding, a cradle or safety barrier, consists of a female piece sealed at regular intervals to the wall (2). The female part is tubular and closed at the inner end, and has projections on it which ensure that it is is secure, such as clips or lugs (27). The female part is closed on the outer end by an impermeable, movable plug. The tie-piece also consists of a male piece (9), tubular (10) which fits inside the female part by its expanding and becoming locked in it. The male part (9) has hooks on it so that it remains inside the female part. The male part (9) comprises a screw (24) with threaded part, with a head (25) which emerges on the outside of the tubular part (10). The inside end of the screw (24) screws into a truncated cone shaped bit (22). The cylindrical screw head (25) has a hole (26) in, in which is inserted a pin (15) which is prevented from being released by a plug alos joined to the male piece by a chain.
