Carburettor for IC vehicle engine - has two channels from float chamber to main outlet for smoother change from slow running

The carburettor has a float chamber (5) with a fuel outlet through a premixing air inlet tube (4) to a prevepouriser (2) which is just upstream of the venturi throat of the main air inlet passage (7). There are two channels (3, 9) from the premixing tube to the prevapourier. One is vertically above the other and one or both enter the prevapouriser at an angle to the vertical. As the throttle is opened fuel is lifted and starts to flow through the lower channel before the upper one. The gives a smoother transition from slow running to normal running.
