摘要
The disc brake for an aircraft or vehicle has a disc which is gripped between two braking jaws, each with a brake lining. The contact faces of the disc are covered with a metal frit. The jaws and their linings have lower heat conductivity than that of the metal frit coating. This coating can be in the shape of a ring, and the static coefficient of friction between it and the brake linings is between 0.1 and 0.70. Alternatively the ring of coating material can be made up of a set of segmented plates, attached to form a ring. They can be fritted onto the backing disc, and the brake lining can be a grey iron or steel casting. The brake lining can be made in two parts with the lining layer attached to a backing plate, and an insulating layer may be incorporated between them.
