The pump includes a compressor located in a sealed casing and lubricated by oil in the casing. The compressor is connected in a circuit contg. a condenser (5), a pressure reducing valve (6) and an evaporator (7). In the sealed casing is an oil cooler, which is at least partly immersed in the oil and is connected to an external heat radiator. The oil cooler pref. consists of a coil of tubing made of a material which is a good heat conductor, and through which a heat transfer fluid flows. The heat transfer fluid pref. forms part of a heating circuit supplied by the heat pump. Alternatively, the oil cooler consists of a vessel with thin, finned walls.
