The conductive liquid is used for resistance measuring and is secured to a corresponding body part by the sphygmomanometer cuff. To the hose (2), containing the liquid, are connected measuring wires, the hose being fitted with expansion limiters (5, 6) when the cuff (1) is applied. The latter is preferably non-elastic and has two points, forming the expansion limiters, at which the hose is connected in untensioned state. The distance of these points is greater by a presett amount than the length of the hose clamped between them. Electrodes are coupled to the hose which may be folded in its middle into a loop whose ends may be secured to the limiting point (6) on the cuff. The centre of the loop may be secured to the other limiting point (5). Typically the hose is secured to the cuff inner side. The resistance measuring liquid in the hose is typically a gallium-indium alloy, electrically conductive at room temperature.
