PURPOSE:To work multiple and diversified kinds of chains of different degrees of thickness increasing even at small quantities efficiently, by increasing the thickness of chain blank materials by padding through electroforming and making the connection intervals between respective wire rings closer. CONSTITUTION:If the chain blank materials of such wire rings 1 as those shown in the figure are suspended in the plating soln. in an electrolytic cell provided with stationary anodes by means of the cathodes serving also as hook fittings and are thereby subjected to electroforming, the products of different paddings shown in the figure are obtained. The advantages of this electroforming lie in that the paddings are relatively thick on the outer part and relatively thin in the part such as connecting part where they mutually overlap and are concealed, and nevertheless the thickness increasing up to required sizes is easy and its accuracy is controllable with electroforming conditions. If collared rotary cathodes 13 and nonconductive weight bars 15 are provided to the electroforming cell 12 and electroforming is performed by putting on long-sized chains 24 in a loop shape and while moving these by rotating, padding may be performed even at the connecting fulcrums. The thus electroformed products are advantageous in post-working such as compressive deforming and besides, they have higher strength.
