PURPOSE:To prevent overspeed due to surging and the turbine conversion of a compressor in starting by arranging a compressor bypass valve and a compressor bypass line on a compressor. CONSTITUTION:A differential pressure transmitter 24 detects flow rate Q, and a differential pressure transmitter 25 detects compressor head DELTAP, and each converts said detected values to electric signals 26 and 27 respectively. Said electric signals 26 and 27 allow a calculator 28 to calculate surging line 20 (DELTAP/Q2), and when this value is larger than the prescribed vlalue, electric signal 29 is transmitted to a transducer 30, and a compressor bypass valve 22 is opened to prevent surging. When counter pressure is generated in the transmitter 24, electric signal 29 is transmitted to the transducer 30, and the compressor bypass valve 22 is opened, and thus, the turbine conversion of a compressor 3 is prevented.
