STEEL PLATE CUTTING METHOD BY DOUBLE-CUT SHEAR

PURPOSE:To minimize the gap between two plates to the butt welded, by shearing every couple of plates, where the trailing edge of the preceding steel plate is overlapped with the leading edge of the following steel plate to be fixed temporarily and the shearing shall take place before and after this overlapped part, and thereby enhancing the straightness in the width direction. CONSTITUTION:The following steel plate 6 is delivered prior to shearing, and its leading edge is overlapped with the trailing edge of the preceding steel plate 5. This following plate 6 is cramped by the incoming side cramp 1, and upper and lower welding electrodes 8 are elevated and sunk to weld fast this overlapped part temporarily in their width direction. Thereafter the upper 3 and lower 4 edges are set in their positions, and the upper edge 3 is sunk to carry out cutting. Accordingly the cutting is carried out for the plates tack welded into a single piece, so that there is no risk of plate floating owing to its dislocation to enhance the straightness in the width direction, that will minimize the gap at the butted part when the welding is carried out, providing good applications to the TIG welding or other welding processes using electron beam, laser beams etc.
