WASHING METHOD OF DEPOSITED SULFUR BLOCK IN DESULFURIZING APPARATUS OF COKE OVEN GAS

PURPOSE:To wash and remove deposited sulfur blocks in a wet desulfurizing apparatus of a coke oven gas with an absorbent solution containing an alkali, by using a mixture solution of an ammoniacal liquor with phenol or tar acid. CONSTITUTION:A mixture solution of an ammoniacal liquor with 0.1-20% phenol or tar acid is circulated at preferably 50-80 deg.C a whole day and night instead of an absorbeng solution through a desulfurizing column 1 of a coke oven gas to wash and remove deposited sulfur blocks completely in the respective plates. Peeled and dropped sulfur residues are then passed through the respective plates of packed beds 9 and stored in the bottom of a tank 3. The sulfur residues are taken out by a blow line 7 and treated by the incineration in an incinerator or treated by charging into a coke oven.
