PROCESS FOR REPLACING THERMOMETER IN BLAST FURNACE- BOTTOM

PURPOSE:To catch the damage condition of blast furnace-refractories accurately even in the next generation of a blast furnace, by the following method in which existing thermometers are left as they are, and new thermometers are buried in the bores opened into the furnace bottom-refractories by the device with special mechanism, in the repair work for blast furnace in which the furnace bottom- refractoriesare reused. CONSTITUTION:Existing thermometers 3 are equipped at two stages in the direction of the refractory-height of a blast furnace-bottom with 90 deg. interval in the circumferential direction. The thermometers 3 are left as they are, and near said thermometers, for instance, at the positions shifted by 45 deg., new positions 5 (shown by two dots lines) where new thermometers are buried, are chosen. After a part of steel shell is cut, bores 21 are opened in the refractories 2 by boring, and new thermometers 4 are inserted into said bores. Then the bores 21 are filled under pressure with filling material from the inner part in order by a pushing device which is movable in redial direction of the furnace and is equipped at the outside of the furnace.
