PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily replace a thermometer by welding a blast furnace shell and a guide pipe in conditions where a point of a guide pipe is separated from a point of an inserting hole by a specific distance or more to a blast furnace shell side, and an interval between a rear end of the guide pipe and the blast furnace shell is kept by a specific distance or more, and then inserting a sheath in such manner that the point of the sheath is kept into contact with a brick, to connect a flange. ;SOLUTION: The replacementing is made by cutting an electric wire 14 of a temperature meter A in operation, and drawing out the same from the guide pipe 10. A polishing jig is inserted into an inserting hole M, to remove a deposite on the point, for bringing a point of a sheath 1 into contact with a brick 23. A measurement bar is inserted into the inserting hole M to measure the depth. The point of the pipe 10 is separated from the point of the inserting hole M by more than 50mm to a blast furnace shell side 21, and an interval between a rear end of the pipe 10 and the blast furnace shell 21 is kept by more than 100mm, for temporarily welding the same. A flange 2 is welded on the rear end of the pipe 10. The sheath 1 having the sheath protective material 11, is inserted into the pipe 10 in such manner that it is curved or restored. The both are connected under the condition that the point of the sheath 1 is kept into contact with the brick 23, and an interval is formed between the flange 2 and a flange 22.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
