TREATMENT OF PILE HEAD IN CONSTRUCTING PILE FOOTING

PURPOSE:To obtain strong supporting ground for piles on the bottom of a pit by a method in which a shoe block insertd into a tubular body buried underground is laden with a vertical load, the bottom ground of the pit is consolidated, and then a coagulating material is placed on the shoe block. CONSTITUTION:A shoe block 20 is inserted into a tubular body 12 buried underground and then struck by a weight 26 by moving a wire 24 vertically, whereupon the shoe block with a guider 22 go down to consolidate the ground 18. Then, the weight 26 is pulled up and removed, and then cement concrete or mortar 30 is placed on the shoe block 20 below the tubular body 12.
