A glass pane (a) is fed onto a conveyor which is located next to a trolley, which can be driven by a jack towards on away from the conveyor. On the top of the trolley is a platform with the shape of a comb. Another ack is used to move the prongs of the platform comb underneath pane (a) so the latter can be lifted off the conveyor and moved out of the latter. A polymer foil (b) is placed on top of pane (a); and then the trolley is used to move the assembly (a,b) back into the conveyor so a second pane (c) held by suction pads can be lowered to form a complete laminated assembly (a,b,c). The platform comb pref. rests on idling rollers located on the trolley. Rational and rapid mfr. of safety- or armour- glass, where two or more glass panes in a stack are sepd. from each other by polymer foils, e.g. polyvinyl-butyral foils.
