E-homo-eburnane derivatives of formula ÄIÜ, IMAGE wherein R1 and R2 each independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and acid addition salts thereof are pharmaceutically active. Certain representatives, in particular from the cis-series, show antidepressant activity, while others, especially the compounds of the trans-series, are antihypoxial agents.
