The shoulder part with an insertable rod has in the longitudinal direction a slidable hollow cylinder with two hooks and at the other end of the hollow cylinder a hand grip. At the front the rod is closed to prevent ingress of foreign particles. The side at the hand grip is also closed. This closure unit also acts as a bearing. A further bearing is fitted at the other end of the rod. This bearing bore is of larger dia. than the rod OD. Rubber bellows is fitted between the shoulder part and the front of bearing. The appts. is hydraulically operated, and a non return valve unit prevents fierce impact of the appts., which enables the farmer to provide controlled removal of the newly born calf.
