A device is used in order to monitor the condition of a starter battery (3) of the starter motor (2) in a reserve power station. The latter is equipped with an electrical first device that with a start order to the reserve power station causes connection of the starter motor to the starter battery and to an internal combustion engine (1) belonging to the reserve power station as well as with a second electrical device which affects the supply of fuel. An impulse generator (9) causes under predetermined intervals such an effect on the above mentioned first and second devices so that the engine goes into operation with the internal combustion engine and temporary rotation results of the combustion engine with the starting engine without the combustion engine starting. A voltage sensor (6) senses the voltage of the battery both between and during the named intervals and gives off a signal. If the named voltage goes under a predetermined level during a predetermined space of time a signal is emitted by the warning device (7). The named warning device can also be initiated via a rotation sensor device on the internal combustion engine or an activation sensor device and a first time-delay device when rotation of the internal combustion motor has not occurred although the impulse sensor initiated one of the named pre-determined time intervals and a pre-determined part of the time interval has passed.IMAGE
