ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe vaccine for prophylaxis and treatment of trichopyto-sis caused by Trichophyton mentagrophytes comprises a suspen-sion of microconidia of the immunogenic Trichophyton menta-grophytes strain No. 135/1963 in a physiological solution withpH of 6.2-7.0 in an amount of 15-25 mln microconidia per 1 mlof the physiological solution having 8-25 mln of viable micro-conidia.A method for preparing the vaccine comprises growing thefungus culture Trichophyton mentagrophytes on a nutrientmedium containing sources of carbon, nitrogen, biologicallyactive compounds till an optimal accumulation of microconidia,separation of the resulting biomass, homogenization thereofto give a suspension of individual cells of the microorganismand drying of the resulting suspension.A method for prophylaxis and treatment of trichophytosiscaused by the pathogenic microorganism Trichophyton menta-grophytes comprising intramuscular injection of said vaccineto animals at the inner side of thigh thereof in a dose of1 to 4 ml twice at an interval of from 7 to 10 days.
