ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREIncreased yields of the cellulolytic enzymes fromThielavia terrestris are effected by novel separatorymethods for the produced enzymes as well as the en-hancement of the production of one of the enzymes,namely .beta.-glucosidase, by the addition of glycerol tothe media, Further, since the .beta.-glucosidase isresponsible for glucose production from cellulose, amethod is provided wherein the separated .beta.-glucosidasecan be employed as, for example, on a fixed supportin a position to receive concentrated streams ofpartially converted cellulosic materials, therebyleading to enhanced glucose production.
