FEED ADDITIVE PASSING THROUGH THE RUMEN OF RUMINANTS AND ITS USE FOR FEEDING RUMINANTS

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA feed additive, passing the rumen of ruminants, inthe form of particles consisting of, in each case relative tothe total weight, 30 to 50 percent by weight of at least onebiologically active substance, 10 to 35 percent by weight of atleast one sodium, potassium or calcium salt of an aliphaticmonocarboxylic acid, containing 14 to 22 carbon atoms or ofricinoleic acid and the balance to make up 100 percent by weightand present in at least 30 percent by weight of at least onealiphatic monocarboxylic acid containing 14 to 22 carbon atomsand/or of ricinoleic acid and/or of a hardened vegetable oranimal fat. The feed additive is used in a daily dose of 1 to100 g for feeding ruminants. The particles are acted upon inthe acid medium of the fourth stomach to set the biologicallyactive substances free.
