The device comprises a support-brake (2) maintaining a hub (3) in a substantially horizontal position, a positioning head (12), and spike guiding and feeding members (40, 42, 44, 46). The position of the holes of the hub is marked by a positioning needle (9), lowered by means of a jack (14) and being inserted in one of the holes to bring it to a predetermined position. The needle is then withdrawn for the threading of the spikes. Application to devices for threading automatically spikes on spike wheels.
