A vacuum switching tube (1) for electrical power circuit breakers has a housing (2) with switching elements (6, 7) which are arranged therein such that they can move relative to one another. The housing (2) comprises a casing (3) consisting of an insulating material or of metal. A screen (12) is in direct contact therewith, which screen has a thermal capacity which is increased by corrugations or a similar shape and encloses the switching elements (6, 7). The heat which occurs during switching is absorbed by the screen (12) and is passed directly into the casing (3). IMAGE
