The invention relates to machinable, magnetic glass ceramics material. The purpose of the invention is to impart magnetic properties to machinable glass ceramics materials. The object of the invention is to cause both mica crystals and nuclear-magnetic crystal phases to precipitate simultaneously in an initial glass. The object is achieved, in accordance with the invention, in that, in a base glass of a composition in wt.% of SiO2 = 39-51, Al2O3 = 0-21, MgO = 8-15, R2O = [illegible]-13, F- = 2-7, Fe2O3 = 4-22, FeO = 3-14, under the condition that R2O represents the sum of 0-9 wt.% Na2O and 0-9 wt.% K2O, crystallisation is produced after melting has taken place. Applications are possible in the electromechanical industry and in apparatus construction.
