The electrical switching apparatus (10) is constructed such that it can be mounted on a DIN standard top-hat profiled supporting rail (14) by being snapped on. For this purpose, a slide (22) is provided on the base of the switching apparatus which slide is pressed inwards towards the supporting rail in a sprung manner, is guided displaceably transversely with respect to said supporting rail and, by means of a movable tab (20), engages behind a free end of the DIN standard profiled supporting rail.
