The manual pan-scourer uses two or more scouring pads (19,21) connected by a deformable rod (2), part of which projects outside the pan to form a handle. The rod is also equipped with adjusters for moving the pads away from each other or apart. The utensil may use an arched bar (2) or tube to connect the pads, vertical pressure on the crown causing the pads to move apart. The pads may be demountable, comprising gauze clad (20,21) timber blocks (19), and using tapered block mortices locating rounded bar end tenons (18) of the reciprocal form.
