Colour ranges from optical mixing of rotating imbricated discs - uses min. number of coloured wheels rotating at high speed to obtain arranged or random colour parameter configuration
The colour ranges are realized by optical mixing of one or several imbricated discs turning at high speed. The coloured surfaces of the discs are elaborated with a minimum of selected colours. Six base colours are chosen at regular intervals from around the chromatic circle. These are: yellow, orange, red or magenta, violet, blue or cyan and green. A little white mixed with each of these gives six more colours, and more white mixed with each gives six further colours, these two ranges being each equi-distant in clearness between the base colour and white. The device then consists of six discs of transparent base colours, one black disc (N), one white disc and one graduated un-coloured transparent disc. Imbrication is achieved where required by radial slits and the discs are rotated at high speed by an electric motor.
