Arc plasma gun - with coaxial electromagnet facing cathode inside plasma guide carrying focusing solenoid

Arc plasma gun for the plasma treatment of workpieces, esp. for the deposition of antifriction, anticorrosive and wear resistant coatings on workpiece surfaces, is equipped with a central consumable cathode, a cylindrical anode, and a tubular plasma guide on the anode flange. A coaxial electromagnet with a nonmagnetic shell is arranged inside the guide and faces the cathode. A focusing solenoid around the plasma guide is connected in opposition to the electromagnet winding. The spatial sepn. of the plasma beam components in a magnetic field eliminates the impingement of macroparticles on the workpiece surface.
