Plasma arc welding involves producing plasma arc (14) by using welding torch (10,10') with plasma gas supply line (11). The produced plasma arc is influenced by using focusing gas flow (16), where the plasma arc is supplied through focusing gas feeding system (12). The focusing gas flow is changed during welding process according the conditions of the welding process. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for plasma welding, which comprises a welding torch with a plasma gas supply line.
