REFINING METHOD IN BOTTOM BLOWING OR TOP AND BOTTOM BLOWING CONVERTER BY CHARGING COKE OR COAL FROM THROAT

PURPOSE:To utilize efficiently coke or coal as a heat source and a CO generating source during refining in a bottom blowing converter by charging coke or coal of a proper grain size from the throat of the converter and by blowing a necessary amount of gas for bottom blowing. CONSTITUTION:When refining is carried out in a bottom blowing or top and bottom blowing converter, coke or coal of =5mm. grain size is charged from the throat of the converter, and gas for bottom blowing is blown by =0.1Nm3/t.min. The charged coke or coal is efficiently brought into contact with a steel bath, and it can be utilized as a heat source and a source of CO which is recovered from unburnt exhaust gas.
