MANUFACTURE OF FINE ZIRCONIA POWDER CONTAINING SOLUBILIZED YTTRIA

摘要

PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled powder capable of forming sintered zirconia porcelain having superior mechanical properties by a neutralization and coprecipitation method by drying precipitated hydroxide by an induction heating method. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous soln. contg. a water soluble zirconium salt such as ZrOCl2.8H2O and a water soluble yttrium salt such as YCl3.6H2O is neutralized by adding an aqueous soln. of NH4OH, and Zr(Y)(OH)4 is precipitated. The precipitate is well washed and dehydrated at = about 7.2g/(sec.mole rate of evaporation. by the drying the precipitate is directly converted into Zr(Y)O2-x without passing through a stage for conversion into Zr(Y)O(OH)2. The Zr(Y)O2-x is calcined at about 600-800 deg.C to obtain fine zirconic powder contg. solubilized yttria.
